Adam Huss’ Special Message to General Hospital Fans
Although he may not be playing Nikolas on General Hospital regularly, Adam Huss is still grateful for every appearance he makes and for the support of his loyal soap fans every time he’s on screen. Following his appearance in the April 29 episode, the actor took to social media to express his gratitude.
“This jailbird is quite moved by all the nice comments and GH fan love today. I am so intensely passionate about getting to do what I love. And your love helps me to keep doing it. Going to bed a grateful guy.”
Huss first stepped into the role of Nikolas Cassadine back in September 2021 for a single episode when portrayer Marcus Coloma was not available. He then returned again in November 2022 for a week while Coloma was ill, and when the character was written off the soap, Huss took over again in January 2023 for the final episodes. He then reprised the role for various brief stints in the months that followed.
The last time viewers saw Nikolas was back in February 2024 when Laura convinced him that living a life on the run with a toddler would never work and he turned himself in to the police for holding Esme captive. In the April 29 episode, Ava paid Nikolas a visit in Pentonville to see how he was doing and to reveal that she was living with Sonny now and that someone was tampering with his meds. Nik warned his ex to watch her step and it was clear that he still cared deeply for her.
The actor also revealed that the scenes in this episode were emotional for another reason. “They’re very special to me because it was the same day I learned my grandma had passed,” Huss shared on Twitter/X. “Not to mention I had an amazing scene partner, Maura West (Ava), and as always an amazing team to work with.”
Laura and Kevin are currently raising Ace themselves while Nikolas is behind bars, but perhaps he’ll get out early for good behavior? Huss’ fans would love nothing more than to have him back on GH for more than a single episode every few months! (And when Sonny finds out that Ava knew about his meds, she’ll definitely need someone on her side!)
