Adam J. Harrington Teases What’s Next for John and Carly on GH!
Viewers had already noticed the chemistry between Adam J. Harrington and Laura Wright from John and Carly’s first scenes together on GENERAL HOSPITAL. And while the FBI agent and the former mob wife might have started out on opposite sides, the pair has begun finding common ground. Especially after Carly rescued John from some assailants and insisted on staying with him overnight to make sure he was okay.
“One of the things I loved about that whole night was that it’s kind of like a moment out of time,” Harrington mused to Soap Opera Digest. “He’s not driving FBI plot; she’s not trying to figure out information. There was no agenda.”
When Nina found Carly in John’s room the next morning, she certainly got an eyeful as the FBI agent appeared in nothing but a towel. But while she quickly ran off to spread rumors, there wasn’t anything going on between John and Carly… at least not yet!
“It’s kept rather business-like,” Harrington confided. “I think it was a nice show of respect from John to Carly, given how much she helped him that night. I thought about it as we were shooting. If he came out in a towel and tried to [hit on her], after what they’ve been through, it would feel so disrespectful to what’s happening. But what I loved was at the end of the scene, the truly most vulnerable and intimate they are, is when they know they’re parting ways.”
Given that John and Carly are going to continue to be thrown together in future episodes, their connection will only continue to grow stronger. “They do grow somewhat closer,” the actor teased.
