Anthony Montgomery on His Surprise Return to GENERAL HOSPITAL
Fans were surprised when Anna and Valentin’s search for Lucy led them to the Netherlands… and an old friend as Anthony Montgomery made a surprising return to GENERAL HOSPITAL! “Heard there was an Andre Maddox sighting on GH today,” the actor joked, sharing some pics from the set. “Love, love, love, Finola Hughes (Anna). Great working with James Patrick Stuart (Valentin). Love my GH family, cast, and crew.”
Montgomery made his daytime debut when he joined the cast of GH in November 2015 to take over from Kevin as Anna’s new psychiatrist. But after it was revealed that Andre was involved in some memory-swapping procedures arranged by the Cassadines, he was sent to prison in December 2017. The actor reprised the role for appearances in 2018 and then again for a few brief stints in 2019.
This most recent appearance in the Dec. 28 episode of GH saw Anna and Valentin visiting Andre in the Netherlands in the hopes that he could give them some information on where Victor might be holding Lucy due to his past involvement with the Cassadines. Andre told them about a secret base the Cassadines took him to in Paris and offered to come with them, since he didn’t trust Valentin. Valentin didn’t particularly trust Andre, but Anna assured him the shrink had reasons of his own to want to take down the Cassadines.
“It was good to have you back for a spell, Anthony,” Hughes said of Montgomery’s brief visit to GH. “Always the best day when you come to town. Love you!”
Anna and Valentin may be heading off to Paris to follow up on Andre’s lead, but might Montgomery make another appearance on the soap? “Until next time,” he teased online. So keep watching GH to see what happens next and keep checking back here at SoapsInDepth.com for more casting updates!
