GH’s Briana Nicole Henry Reveals She’s Recovering From COVID-19

The ongoing coronavirus pandemic continues to affect everyone all over the world, and GENERAL HOSPITAL star Briana Nicole Henry (Jordan) recently shared her experience with the virus. “[My husband] Kris and I have been recovering from COVID-19 since a few days after Thanksgiving,” she revealed on Instagram. “Although some symptoms linger, we’re both so grateful that it seems as though — unlike for over a million others — we will make a full and healthy recovery.”

The actress is now on the mend and hopefully will be able to return to her normal life and work at GH soon. “I’ve stepped out of my home only to simply walk [my dog] Marlee, which in turn has given me an opportunity to spend a lot of time inside my mind, observing different thoughts,” Henry admitted. “I was reminded of the strength of my body and its ability to heal.

“I’ve been reminded what a sound choice it was to marry someone that is kind and thoughtful,” she continued. “I recommend picking a partner that is your best friend. On my worst days, Kris reminded me of how beautiful he thought I was, how strong. Even through the mess I physically felt I was. I was reminded how kisses can make some of the most healing of medicines.”

While her husband’s love helped get her through the worst of the virus, Henry also had to give a little credit to her adorable little pooch. “I was touched by Marlee’s constant loyalty,” she said. “My fevers, body aches, and sobs were never enough to make her not want to nestle into my stomach, assuring I had her warmth near.

“I was blown away by the amount of friends, colleagues, family, old friends, fans who reached out to remind us we were loved and being thought of,” Henry added. “I will keep that love for a lonely day, one in which I’ve managed to convince myself otherwise. I was reminded that emotional healing is never-ending. It is part of our life’s work. Be patient, you deserve at least that.

“I felt grateful for the safety of my home,” she continued, “knowing there are so many that would not/do not have a safe place to rest their souls and heads every night to heal and rebuild. Grateful I could spend hours watching people in my field transcend my screen and find a way into my heart. But most importantly I feel so grateful for the people, frontline workers, that are fighting tirelessly to get people to survive this insane pandemic we have all found ourselves so deeply in the throes of.”

Having suffered from COVID herself, Henry wants to urge everyone out there to make sure they don’t suffer the same fate. “Lastly, and please hear this,” she declared. “We are simply human. Vulnerable, just as anything else with the ability and certainty of death. Please wear a mask. Take the precautions that will ensure your safety as well as the safety of people you may never meet. We get through this by being selfless, kind, and vigilant. Love y’all.”

The comments to Henry’s Instagram post were full of her GH castmates and fans expressing their sympathies and wishing her a full and speedy recovery. Please join us in joining them in wishing her all the best as she continues to recover from this deadly virus.
