Caitlin Reilly to Appear in GENERAL HOSPITAL Tribute Episode to Her Father, John Reilly
After the death of John Reilly in January 2021, GENERAL HOSPITAL soon decided to create a special tribute episode to the actor and his long-running character of Sean Donely. And now Variety is reporting that the special show will include his real-life daughter, Caitlin Reilly, playing his TV daughter, Annie!
“Words can’t describe how honored I am to be playing my dad’s daughter on the show,” Reilly said. “I grew up on the set of GH watching him work for years, so it’s exciting to dive into a new character in honor of him. He’ll absolutely be by my side in spirit rooting me on. It fills my heart with gratitude to be a part of this tribute to him, and to feel so close to him working on a show he loved so much doing.”
Anna — now going by Annie — is the daughter of Sean Donely and Tiffany Hill. The character last appeared back in August 2013 when Luke and Holly found Sean was suffering from polonium poisoning just like Luke, and Anna was played by Courtney Halverson at the time.
Reilly is an actor, comedian, writer and producer with a number of short films in her credits as well as the digital series MEREDITH AND LAURIE HAVE A WEB SERIES. She is perhaps best known for her TikTok impression videos, with two million followers on that social media platform. Reilly will next appear in an ad campaign for the videogame Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla and the indie film Wrong Reasons, produced by Kevin Smith.
ABC has not yet announced details of the special tribute episode of GH so keep checking back at SoapsInDepth.com for updates on when it will air.
