Can Willow Forgive Nina on GH? — Katelyn MacMullen Speaks Out!
Michael and Willow can’t seem to catch a break on GENERAL HOSPITAL! After their wedding reception was interrupted by the SEC arriving to arrest Carly and Drew, their wedding night was spoiled when Michael confessed to his scheme to take down Sonny and the stress caused his new bride to collapse!
Rushed to the hospital, Willow was told she would have to remain in isolation for her own safety until she could receive her life-saving bone marrow transplant. “It’s certainly hard for Willow because she is undergoing chemo and she can only talk to her family and friends on the phone, she can’t touch them or be with them,” Katelyn MacMullen (Willow) admitted to Soap Opera Digest. “Especially right now, being separated from the man she just married and from her kids is so difficult for Willow. It takes so much strength.”
Although everyone is trying to keep Willow’s spirits up as she battles leukemia, the possibility that she could die has inspired the young woman to rethink her feelings towards Nina, the woman she recently learned is her biological mother.
“I think at this point, the needle has shifted a little bit for Willow,” MacMullen mused. “She’s kind of like, ‘Okay, I don’t have the energy to hate someone.’ Not that I would describe [her feelings for Nina] as hate, but it’s pretty close! And how I look at it is that Willow feels, “Wow, it’s sad to think about what could have been.’ It’s too late to rebuild the relationship.
“So in the scenes that I have with Cynthia [Watros, Nina], I feel like Willow is more sad than she is [insistent] that, ‘I will have nothing to do with you!’” the actress continued. “Willow is kind of opening up to the idea of Nina being in her life. It’s all still such tender ground because they don’t know each other, really, and to find out you’re mother and daughter after you’ve had such a crazy relationship — and to find it out when you’re knocking at death’s door? I just don’t know how you reconcile with that.”
Once Willow undergoes the transplant and goes into remission, she’ll have plenty of time to think about how to proceed with Nina. Of course, any progress they might make as mother and daughter would be ruined if Willow found out it was Nina who alerted the SEC and spoiled her wedding day!
