Who plays Carly’s divorce lawyer on GENERAL HOSPITAL? Attorney Rebecca Diamond is being portrayed by Kate Orsini, who made her debut in the Feb. 15 episode. Some soap fans might recall the actress from her role of fertility specialist Dr. March over on CBS sudser THE BOLD & THE BEAUTIFUL. And according to her IMDb resume, Orsini was also on GH back in 2007 for three episodes as a character named Eve. Viewers might also recognize her from her numerous appearances in primetime series like THE KING OF QUEENS, 90210, NASHVILLE, JANE THE VIRGIN, NCIS: LOS ANGELES, and 9-1-1.
When Carly Corinthos decided to end her marriage to Sonny Corinthos, she looked into divorce attorneys and managed to get an immediate appointment with Rebecca Diamond. The lawyer arrived in Carly’s office and immediately began discussing what assets she had her eye on. Carly claimed she was just weighing her options but at Rebecca’s urging, explained every gory detail of the recent drama.
Rebecca declared they could take Sonny to the cleaners, but Carly worried he would make this divorce ugly, something she wanted to avoid. The attorney reminded Carly that she had an advantage because every judge in Port Charles knows who Sonny Corinthos is and would likely rule against him if given the opportunity. When Carly again insisted she didn’t want to sue for full custody of the children, Rebecca wondered why she didn’t hire a lawyer who would play nice.
Carly then admitted that she wanted to go after Nina and make her pay the ultimate price for tearing her family apart and asked if Rebecca could do that. The lawyer smiled and suggested they discuss her retainer. Carly may not want an ugly divorce, but that may be exactly what she gets!
