Cassandra James Shares “a Very Special” Cover Story
As an actress and model, GENERAL HOSPITAL’s Cassandra James (Terry) is no stranger to appearing on magazine covers. However, being the cover girl for the Dec/Jan issue of Boulevard Magazine meant more to her than any of the others.
“This is a very special cover to me,” James shared on Instagram. “As a Chinese-American raised in Canada, talking with Boulevard Magazine about my life and career is such an honor. I love my hometown of Vancouver and I know my Pau Pau is smiling down on me.”
As it says on the cover, Boulevard Magazine is about “defining Vancouver life and luxury,” and James is serving luxurious realness in that gold strapless number! In her Instagram gallery, she also shared some images from her cover story with more glamorous photos from the inside of the magazine, but unfortunately, the text is all in Chinese.
From the cover line, “Trans actress makes history,” however, it’s likely about how James broke boundaries as the first transgender actress to play a transgender character on a daytime soap opera. She made her debut on GH back in June 2018 and has continued to appear over the years. Usually when good friend Liz needs some advice or a shoulder to cry on, but in a recent storyline twist, Terry was made co-chief of staff alongside Britt, which led to some… let’s say, tension!
The actress has also moonlighted in other roles, appearing on the Canadian legal drama DIGGSTOWN, the HBO Max series SORT OF, and the recently released holiday movie A Christmas Sunset.
James has been very open about using her role on GH to help raise awareness for issues surrounding the trans community, such as when she recently opened up about her childhood and transition. She also received an outpouring of love and support from her castmates when a GH actor shared a transphobic meme on social media. And now James is able to reach even more people with her special cover story in Boulevard Magazine. Congratulations on this amazing achievement and we’re sure there will be many more to come!
