GENERAL HOSPITAL Could Resume Taping in July

All four soaps were forced to suspend production along with everyone else in Hollywood and around the world due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but things are looking up for fans who are eager to find out what happens next on their favorite daytime dramas. According to Deadline, GENERAL HOSPITAL is looking at possibly resuming production in mid-July, depending on how the virus continues to behave in Los Angeles. This means new episodes could air as early as August.

THE BOLD & THE BEAUTIFUL was the first soap to attempt to resume taping, although they were forced to pause after just one day back due to some issues with COVID-19 testing and false positives. They resumed taping on June 24 with new security precautions in place to keep the cast and crew safe and healthy. Sister soap THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS is reportedly eying a July 6 return date, but that has not been set in stone yet as the situation continues to evolve day by day.

DAYS OF OUR LIVES is the only soap that had enough episodes taped and can reportedly run into September, but GH, B&B, and Y&R all ran out of episodes weeks ago and have been airing classic episodes to keep fans entertained. DAYS has not yet revealed what its plans are to resume production at this time.
