It is the final countdown for the real-life nuptials of THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS’ Courtney Hope (Sally) and GENERAL HOSPITAL’s Chad Duell (Michael)! According to reports, the soap stars are set to exchange vows on Saturday, October 23!
First introduced by mutual friend Brian Craig — who played Duell’s brother, Morgan, on GH — the couple had been dating for five years when the groom-to-be popped the question this past Valentine’s Day with a beautiful sapphire and diamond ring. “Yesterday was a good day,” the actress announced on Instagram in announcing their engagement. “Forever with this man is a dream come true.”
The bride-to-be celebrated her last hurrah as a single lady in late July during a weekend getaway at Joshua Tree National Park with four close friends. In posting some snaps from her bachelorette Instagram, Hope used the hashtag “DuellyBeloved” and hinted at a Halloween theme for her wedding celebration by adding “Til Death Duell Us Party” and a skull emoji.
With just days left before the big day, Hope understandably wants to be as best prepared as she can be to become Mrs. Chad Duell. In a video posted to Y&R’s Instagram page, the actress went on a fact-finding mission behind the scenes at her soap, polling some of her co-stars for marriage advice. But of course, Hope’s request had a soap-worthy twist as she actually asked what marriage advice their Genoa City characters would give her!
“As Victoria Newman, I would say that you need to marry a man that is not going to be around for very long,” suggested the oft-married heiress’ portrayer, Amelia Heinle. “And especially if he has a lot of money.”
Eileen Davidson, whose alter ego once had no idea that her sweet photographer hubby Blade was being impersonated by his vengeful twin brother, Rick, warned Hope against lookalikes. “Well, Ashley would tell you to make sure that your husband doesn’t have an evil twin,” she shared. “Ashley married an evil twin, and it didn’t work out well. She had a hard time telling the difference. So, look for tell-tale signs like a mole in a place that maybe wasn’t there before.” Holding back a chuckle, Hope promised, “I’ll get on that tonight.”
Another important marital nugget came from Christel Khalil (Lily), who advised her co-star to be on the lookout for gaslighting by one’s spouse. “Don’t let your husband let you think that he’s dead and that you’ve slept with a ghost,” she recommended.
