Cynthia Watros Reveals Why She Gave up Acting (EXCLUSIVE)

Tags:

About four years before joining the cast of GENERAL HOSPITAL as Nina, Cynthia Watros decided to put her career on hold. “My last show [MTV’s FINDING CARTER] was in Atlanta, and my daughters were in high school in Los Angeles,” explained the mother to twins Emma and Sadie. “It’s hard to go back and forth — for
them, for me, for my life as a mom. So I kind of put my acting
aside and said, ‘I’m going to slow it all down until they graduate.”

Fast-forward to the spring of 2019, when the actress (who earned a Daytime Emmy in 1998 for her run as GUIDING LIGHT’s Annie) got a call asking if she’d like to assume the role of Nina on GH… and the timing couldn’t have been better. Why? Because Watros’ girls graduated from high school in early June and, she marvels, “I started work the next day! It just seemed like it [made] sense.”
