Denise Alexander Returns To GENERAL HOSPITAL!
Laura’s family drama will be intensifying as Denise Alexander returns to GENERAL HOSPITAL as Lesley Webber! The character has been mentioned recently on the soap as Laura deals with discovering a couple of new branches to her family tree, but now Soap Opera Digest is reporting that Lesley will be back on screen again.
Alexander made her daytime debut as Lois Adams on THE CLEAR HORIZON in 1960, but her big break came when she played Susan Hunter Martin on DAYS OF OUR LIVES from 1966-1973. After she was written out of DAYS, Alexander was cast on GH as Dr. Lesley Williams. After more than a decade in Port Charles, the actress left to play Mary McKinnon on ANOTHER WORLD but returned to the role of Lesley in 1996. She continued on the soap on a recurring basis for years, but the character basically faded into the background around 2009. She did make a return appearance in 2013 for GH’s 50th-anniversary celebration, however, and in December 2017, officiating at Laura’s wedding to Kevin.
Lesley’s most recent appearance was in the April 2019 episode celebrating GH’s 56th anniversary, but just for the one show. Hopefully, this time Alexander will be around a bit longer as Laura could certainly use her mother’s support as she deals with the revelation that Cyrus Renault and Martin Grey are her brothers! Unless, of course, Lesley ends up being kidnapped by Cyrus in retaliation for Carly abducting his mother!
