GENERAL HOSPITAL Alum Emily Wilson Is Pregnant!
Soon to be a party of three! GENERAL HOSPITAL alum Emily Wilson (ex-Ellie) shared on Instagram that she and her husband, actor Adhir Kalyan, are expecting their first child. But not only will they soon be welcoming a baby, but their daughter is due very, very soon! “Nine months in, and we finally got a picture with all three of us!” the mother-to-be captioned her pregnancy announcement. “Adhir and I cannot wait to welcome our baby girl in a few weeks!”
Kalyan — who is familiar to many television viewers for having played David Spade’s snarky assistant, Timmy, on the CBS sitcom RULES OF ENGAGEMENT and will star on the network’s upcoming UNITED STATES OF AL, set to premiere Thursday, April 1 — shared a coordinating pregnancy announcement of his own. “When your filter is your wife’s pregnancy glow,” he wrote on Instagram. “We weren’t sure if nine months was too soon to share the news, but we’re having a baby girl in about three weeks! We absolutely cannot wait.”
As GH fans will remember, Wilson was cast on the soap as lab technician Ellie Trout in September 2012. Soon after, she began dating adorkable Spinelli, whom she referred to by his given name, Damien. Both Ellie and Spinelli were written off the canvas the following December when they moved to Portland together with Spinelli and Maxie’s daughter, Georgie. In the years since, Wilson has made sporadic appearances (most recently in January 2016), even though Spinelli and Ellie moved back to New York last year when she accepted a job at a nearby hospital.
The Kalyans met a decade ago when she auditioned to play Timmy’s girlfriend on the CBS sitcom — and while she didn’t land the role, she got the guy! Wilson and Kalyan married on Oct. 1, 2016, in a tropical-themed wedding at the Colony 29 resort in Palm Springs. That December, the couple traveled to Kalyan’s hometown of Durban, South Africa, where they had a second wedding, this time a traditional Hindu ceremony.
Congratulations to the couple as they prepare to embark on their newest role: parenthood!
