GENERAL HOSPITAL Star Emma Samms Is Engaged!
Please join us in congratulating GENERAL HOSPITAL star Emma Samms (ex-Holly) on her engagement to ex-BBC News anchor Simon McCoy! The newsman, who now works for GB News, confirmed the happy news to the Daily Mail: “Yes, it’s true. We are both so happy, as are our children.”
The couple, who live together at their home in the Cotswolds area of south England, have not yet set a date, but are planning a hopefully post-pandemic wedding next year. “We shall celebrate in the spring, when it’s safe to share a party,” McCoy said.
Samms — who in addition to GH, found fame as Fallon on primetime sudsers DYNASTY and THE COLBYS — has three previous marriages in her history. She was married to Bansi Nagji from 1991-92, Tim Dillon from 1994-95, and John Holloway from 1996-2003. She and Holloway have two children, Beatrice and Cameron. McCoy has a son, Max, from his first marriage, and separated from his second wife, Victoria Graham, in 2019.
Although Samms has not yet spoken publicly about the engagement, she has previously expressed her love for McCoy, especially in the way he has helped her deal with the debilitating effects of Long COVID, which she has been suffering with since early 2020. “Simon has been absolutely amazing,” she told Hello! Magazine, “taking me to the hospital and waiting outside for hours and just doing as much as he possibly could to help. He’s given me emotional support, too. I’ll never be able to thank him for his kindness.”
All the best to the happy couple and we can’t wait to see some beautiful wedding photos! Also, we look forward to Samms being well enough to travel to the U.S. so that she can reprise the role of Holly Sutton on GH and finish telling that story that was interrupted by the pandemic!
