Eva LaRue Reveals the AMC Connection to Brook Lynn’s Wedding!
Natalia was excited to attend Brook Lynn and Chase’s wedding as Sonny’s plus-one on General Hospital, as was her portrayer, Eva LaRue. But while Natalia’s zeal stemmed from being at the town’s social event of the year, being on the set of the All Saints Chapel was a walk down memory lane for the former All My Children star, who revealed that the Port Charles church was a repurposed one from Pine Valley, where she’d filmed scenes as Dr. Maria Santos Grey!
On Instagram, LaRue shared a carousel of behind-the-scenes photos of her with several GH co-stars and a video from Brook Lynn and Chase’s wedding at the All Saints chapel. “Wedding shoots may be long hours, but they’re great hang-out days!” she wrote, then delighted longtime ABC Daytime viewers with a nostalgic nugget. “Bit of trivia: The church we’re shooting in is actually the Wildwind chapel set from All My Children. Maria and Edmund renewed their vows on that set! So much nostalgia!”
In LaRue’s AMC storyline, Maria had returned to Pine Valley after a five-year absence in which she was suffering from amnesia (after being presumed dead in a plane crash). After trying to rescue her drowning daughter, Maria’s memories flooded back and she recalled her life with her true love, Edmund. In a romantic midnight ceremony, Edmund and Maria remarried in the quaint chapel on the grounds of his family’s massive estate, Wildwind.
One of the behind-the-scenes images LaRue shared was of her with fellow former Pine Valley residents Finola Hughes (Anna) and Cameron Mathison (Drew). While Hughes appeared as both Anna and her twin sister, Alex, on AMC, Mathison got his daytime start on the soap as Ryan Lavery. Much like the All Saints is the site of many Port Charles weddings (and funerals, like Bobbie’s), the Wildwind chapel is where many Pine Valley couples exchanged vows, such as Noah and Julia, Erica and Dimitri, and Mathison’s Ryan and Gillian (pictured above) and Ryan and Annie!
