GENERAL HOSPITAL Alum Ronnie Marmo is Engaged to Janelle Gaeta!
Please join us in congratulating GENERAL HOSPITAL alum Ronnie Marmo (ex-Ronnie) on his recent engagement to fellow thespian Janelle Gaeta! The actor shared the happy news on Instagram, posting a pair of selfies of him and his bride-to-be donning huge smiles while standing on a balcony at night, a city of lights dotting the background behind them. “She said yes!” Marmo announced in his post. “Thank God she found me. What a lucky girl!”
While he opened his engagement news with a joke, the divorced single dad was quick to clarify that he considers himself to be the lucky one. “Actually, quite the opposite!” Marmo continued. “I never thought I would find someone again that I’d want to spend the rest of my life with. And I have. I love this woman from the deepest corners of my heart. And thank God I found her!”
A single dad to 14-year-old daughter Rosalie, Marmo met Gaeta in March 2020 when he was presenting his one-man show, I’m Not A Comedian… I’m Lenny Bruce, at the same Chicago theater where Gaeta was performing in another play. In a second post about their engagement, a smitten Marmo shared side-by-side images from the first night they met at The Royal George Theater and a current-day photo of Gaeta showing off her bling. “We are excited to have started the year with some good news!” he wrote.
Marmo joined the cast of GH back in July 2009 as Ronnie Dimestico, Dante’s childhood friend from Bensonhurst and fellow police detective. The two cops were introduced to the canvas together as they worked uncover to infiltrate the Zacchara crime family and bring down the Corinthos organization as well. By the time the character was killed off in May 2012, Ronnie had been revealed as a dirty cop who had framed Dante for attacking dancers at Vaughan’s strip club and then held Lulu and a very pregnant Sam hostage on board The Haunted Star.
Since exiting GH, Marmo has appeared in several short films and made numerous TV appearances on shows such as CRIMINAL MINDS, LETHAL WEAPON, and THE COMEBACK KIDS, while also performing his I’m Lenny Bruce show.
“Janelle and I are overwhelmed with the incredible support we’ve gotten since announcing our engagement,” he wrote in the follow-up on Instagram. “Thank you all from the bottom of our hearts!
