GENERAL HOSPITAL Is Preempted Today

Unfortunately, as was expected, GENERAL HOSPITAL is preempted on June 21 for ongoing news coverage of the hearings on the attack on the Capitol Building. While preemptions for news are nothing new for fans, it’s still upsetting, and more so with this particular episode because it is the soap’s 15,000th show.

On the plus side, however, ABC announcing a national preemption means that it will not be on anywhere on Tuesday and will simply air in full on Wednesday, bumping the broadcast schedule by one day for all future episodes. There’s no reason to go look for it on Hulu or ABC.com Tuesday evening, because it won’t be there. And if the hearings have ended in your area by the time GH normally airs, don’t be confused when you see an encore episode instead as a placeholder.

One thing fans do need to keep in mind is that they should definitely make sure to check their DVR to make sure it records on Wednesday because often, preemptions interfere with scheduled DVR recordings, and this special 15,000th episode is one no one will want to miss!

So be sure to tune in on Wednesday, June 22, to watch the drama continue, and keep checking back here at SoapsInDepth.com for the latest news and updates!
