GENERAL HOSPITAL Preempted Nationally Today

It’s always been a fact of life that breaking news will interrupt soaps, even if the news isn’t even particularly “breaking.” And unfortunately, coverage of the inditement of former president Donald Trump took over afternoon television programming, which meant that GENERAL HOSPITAL was preempted on April 4. “Due to ongoing breaking news coverage,” the soap tweeted, “today’s scheduled episode of GH will air tomorrow.”

Because this is a national preemption, it means that Tuesday’s episode of GH will simply air the following day, Wednesday, April 5. Since no episode aired on April 4, there will be no show uploaded to Hulu or ABC.com so don’t even bother looking for it online in the evening because it won’t be there. You’ll just have to wait until tomorrow.

On the plus side, a national preemption means that no one has to worry about searching it out online to stay caught up on all the drama and excitement because it was preempted in their area but aired in other time zones. Everybody misses out equally, sadly. Well, except for viewers in Canada. They saw Tuesday’s episode on Tuesday, and will see an encore on Wednesday to even things out again for Thursday!

And the interruption to the flow of drama couldn’t have come at a more inopportune time with the GH Nurses Ball kicking off with its heartfelt dedication and first performances. Plus, Victor is closing in on Anna, Valentin, and Lucy!

So just tune in tomorrow, Wednesday, April 5, where the drama will pick up right where it left off at the end of Monday’s episode. You won’t miss a single moment of the action!
