GENERAL HOSPITAL Recasts Nikolas With Adam Huss Again
Viewers of GENERAL HOSPITAL should probably be used to temporary recasts by now but they were still wondering who is the new Nikolas in the Nov. 14 episode! Although it was a different face, it should still be familiar to fans as he’s actually played the role before! Adam Huss stepped in for Marcus Coloma for a single episode back in September 2021, and now has done the same just over a year later!
Nikolas Cassadine has had a few different faces over the years. Tyler Christopher created the character back in 1996, and in 1999, Colton Scott took over. Christopher reprised the role in 2003 and stuck around until 2016, with Nick Stabile stepping in briefly to usher the character off the canvas. But during that time, Chris Beetem also played Nikolas for a brief period of time in 2005 while Christopher was undergoing surgery. When the Cassadine prince was brought back to Port Charles in October 2019, the role was recast with Marcus Coloma, who continues to play him to this day.
Huss is no stranger to daytime, either. His resume includes an episode of DAYS OF OUR LIVES early in his career, and in 2002, he played Lance on THE BOLD & THE BEAUTIFUL, an actor who Sheila killed with a swarm of bees after he refused to continue going along with her evil scheme! He also played Miguel’s imposter on PASSIONS in 2006. The actor also starred in primetime as Trey on POWER and has made guest appearances in series like NCIS: LOS ANGELES, IRONSIDE, and THE BAR.
GH has seen quite a few temporary recasts in recent years, sometimes because of COVID and other times for other reasons. Most recently, the role of Michael has been sporadically played by THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS alum Robert Adamson (ex-Noah) when Chad Duell had to take some time off for health issues. There has been no indication as to why the soap had to replace Coloma with Huss again or if it was once again just the one episode.
