GH Alum Ryan Carnes Asks Fans to Help a Family in Need

Although he hasn’t been on GENERAL HOSPITAL since March 2020, Ryan Carnes (ex-Lucas) still has plenty of loyal fans, and the actor reached out to them on social media as the holidays approached to ask them to help him help a friend.

“Hey all,” he wrote. “’Tis the season to make some wishes come true and help some folks out. Sadly, I know that there are many families out there right now that could use lots of extra love and support. I happen to know directly of one such family who we can help, so if you feel inclined, please click on the link, head on over to the Amazon wishlist (no, that wishlist is not mine), and gift them anonymously with something they need.

“This family consists of a mother, who is a survivor of severe physical, emotional, and sexual abuse, and her two young boys,” Carnes explained. “A friend of mine is doing God’s work and helping them get back on their feet, so please help me help her help them.”

The Amazon wishlist contains all kinds of items a family might need, including food, detergent, paper products, household cleaners, and more. There are also gift cards to various places like Starbucks, Subway, Pizza Hut, and more. The mother also explained the cat food and treats on the list. “A dear friend bought the boys two kittens,” she wrote. “At first, I didn’t want to keep them because of the added expense, but the cats have helped the boys so much with their trauma and they are calming down and just want to protect their cats. It’s very sweet.”

The holidays can be difficult for some families who are struggling to keep a roof over their heads and food on their tables. So if those who have more than they need can help out those who don’t, the world might be a better place.
