GH’s Briana Lane Mourns the Death of Her Husband, John

Please join us in sending love to Briana Lane (ex-Brook Lynn, GENERAL HOSPITAL), who is mourning the death of her beloved husband, John Lange. “I will love you forever, my sweet John,” she shared on Instagram. “Til we meet again.”

While no cause of death was given, a Go Fund Me page that was set up to raise money for his memorial and help his widow navigate the next steps of her life reported that Lange passed away on March 14, 2023, at his home in Studio City. His passions included technology, gadgets, stand-up comedy, his wife, and their dog, Foxy. The couple tied the knot in a beautiful outdoor ceremony at Smoke Tree Ranch back on Dec. 5, 2015.

GH fans remember Lane for her two stints filling in for Amanda Setton as Brook Lynn Quartermaine on the ABC soap. Her first run, filling in while Setton was on maternity leave in the fall of 2020, earned the actress a Daytime Emmy Award nomination for Outstanding Guest Performer. She also filled in for Setton again for a brief appearance in October 2022. 

Lane’s former GH castmates joined fans and friends in filling the comments of her post with love and sympathy. “Love you!” exclaimed Katelyn MacMullen (Willow) while Kirsten Storms (Maxie) shared: “Sending you so much love.” Jen Lilley (ex-Theresa, DAYS OF OUR LIVES; ex-Maxie, GH) wrote: “Oh my God. Brianna. Sending love and prayers your way.” And Theo and Erik Olson (ex-Wiley) commented with a simple broken heart emoji.
