GH’s Maurice Benard Opens up About His Milestone Tour
As he celebrates his 30th anniversary playing Sonny on GENERAL HOSPITAL, daytime star Maurice Benard has embarked on The Milestone Tour, where he has been traveling around the country doing live shows to entertain and later meet and greet his loyal fans.
“I can’t even explain how incredible this tour has been,” the Emmy winner shared on Instagram. First of all, to go on four or five planes and have no anxiety is a godsend. To be on stage with my son and watch him perform, I am a proud dad. But best of all to be able to entertain and have a communion with the audience has been a once-in-a-lifetime experience!”
Benard’s wife, Paula, has been traveling with him as well as his son, Joshua., who has even sang as part of the special evening. There have also been special guests at some shows like Drew Cheetwood (ex-Milo) in Detroit as well as Evan Hofer (Dex) and Eden McCoy (Josslyn) in Kansas City.
“My shows have laughter, some tears, State of Mind, GH, and a lot of sexy,” Benard promised fans. “You will go home feeling cleansed. The audience has been absolutely beautiful. I’ve said it a thousand times and I’ll say it again — the GH and State of Mind fans are the most loyal and greatest fans in the world.”
Sadly, The Milestone Tour is coming to an end this month with two final dates in Tampa and Orlando, Florida on Saturday, Sept. 9, and Sunday, Sept. 10. If you’re in those areas, you can visit CoastalEntertainment.com for details and tickets.
And if you’re one of the many fans who missed out on this memorable tour, hopefully now that Benard has conquered his fear of flying, he’ll be doing a lot more touring in the future! Because as much as he enjoys meeting the fans, they love meeting him even more!
