GH’s Parry Shen Reveals His Exciting New Role!
Get ready to see GENERAL HOSPITAL’s Parry Shen (Brad) in a whole new kind of role! Well, hear him anyway! The talented actor is lending his voice to a character in a new animated series! “Excited to finally share that I’ll be voicing Weimin (a Komodo Dragon) in Netflix’s new show KUNG FU PANDA: THE DRAGON KNIGHT joining Jack Black’s return to voicing Po!” he shared on Instagram with a clip from the show. “Now streaming!”
The latest series in the Kung Fu Panda franchise follows Po as he embarks on a globe-trotting quest for redemption and justice that partners him up with an English knight known as the Wandering Blade. That character is played by Rita Ora, and James Hong is reprising his role as Mr. Ping. As Shen mentioned, THE DRAGON KNIGHT brings Jack Black back to voice the lead character after Mick Wingert took over for two previous KUNG FU PANDA series.
Soap fans may be familiar with Shen for his portrayal of Brad Cooper on GH, a role he has been playing since 2013. But he’s also made appearances in primetime shows like BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER, VERONICA MARS, AND NCIS LOS ANGELES as well as in films like Better Luck Tomorrow and Hatchet. He’s also done plenty of voice work, in videogames like Mortal Kombat X, LEGO Marvel’s Avengers, and Ghost of Tsushima alongside animated series like DOC MCSTUFFINS.
And it’s a good thing we’re telling you that it’s Shen doing Weimin’s voice because if you watch the clip above, you’d never know it was him. Now that’s talent! All episodes of KUNG FU PANDA: THE DRAGON KNIGHT are now streaming on Netflix, so check it out and keep watching GH to see what kind of trouble Brad gets into next!
