GH’s Sam Temporarily Recast With Lindsay Hartley Again

Fans were taken by surprise when there was a new Sam on GENERAL HOSPITAL in the Jan. 2 episode, but not completely, as the new face was actually a very familiar one!

Once again, soap hopper Lindsay Hartley is stepping in temporarily to play Sam Morgan in Kelly Monaco’s absence. GH fans will remember her brief runs in 2020 and 2022 doing the exact same thing on the show.

Soap fans should also recognize Hartley from her other daytime roles, including Theresa on PASSIONS, Ariana on DAYS, and Cara on ALL MY CHILDREN. The actress has also been appearing in numerous TV movies in recent years, including Killer Ambition, Vacation Home Nightmare, and Falling for a Killer.  She’s even stepped behind the camera recently to direct movies like Sinister Cover-Up, Dare to Say Yes, and A Christmas Frequency.

At this time there is no information as to why, exactly, Monaco was unable to work, or how long Hartley will be filling in for her. Though GH fans should be getting used to these unexpected temporary recasts. On Dec. 27, Nicole Paggi stepped in as a temporary Maxie recast, and Courtney Fulk has been playing Josslyn since Dec. 18 while Eden McCoy is taking some time off.
