Go Backstage at GH With Grace and Drew Cheetwood!
When Drew Cheetwood returned to GENERAL HOSPITAL so that Milo could attend Epiphany’s memorial service and dance at the Nurses Ball with the Magic Wands, the actor brought along a special guest — his 10-year-old daughter Grace accompanied him from Michigan to Los Angeles!
I got to share a scene on GH this past week with my daughter Grace,” Cheetwood said on Instagram. “It was so surreal. So special. I met my wife through the show and now we have our three beautiful daughters. I couldn’t be more grateful.
“Grace was born in LA and spent almost the first three years of her life there,” he continued. “We brought her to GH’s 50th-anniversary celebration at the studio as a baby… where she was promptly held by all the awesome women who work on our show. Grace loves acting and all the drama. Sometimes to her mother’s chagrin! This is in her DNA. So to get the opportunity we did from the show was quite literally a dream for the both of us.”
Eagle-eyed viewers spotted young Grace as the young girl in a pink bathrobe who ran through the backstage area of the Nurses Ball, colliding with Milo as he was talking with Maxie. After she urged Grace to hurry and join the rest of her group, Milo commented, “Cute kid.”
“Everyone on the show was so sweet and kind to Grace,” Cheetwood revealed. “From the casting department helping orchestrate our logistics to the hair and makeup gals getting her all gussied up to all the cast and crew who made her (and me) feel right at home. Wardrobe/makeup department for getting her all dolled up and making her feel like a star. The writers for writing a bomb-ass script/scene for us. The directors for being so gracious.
“Kirsten Storms (Maxie) was so sweet with her in our scene,” the proud dad added. “Thank you for that, Kirsten. And it all wouldn’t have been possible without [executive producer] Frank Valentini thinking it all up and making it happen. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!”
Cheetwood shared a fun peek behind the scenes of their big day that shows the father and daughter heading into the studio, Grace getting her hair done and heading to the set in costume, and a look at the actors taping the scene in question.
