How To Watch Thursday’s Preempted GENERAL HOSPITAL
Soap fans hate it when “breaking news” interrupts their favorite shows, especially when the news isn’t particularly “breaking.” And unfortunately, that’s what happened on Aug. 3 with lots of fans wondering how to watch Thursday’s GENERAL HOSPITAL.
Sometimes, if the interruption comes early enough in the day and coverage of the news is expected to last for a time, ABC will simply preempt the soap and bump that episode to the following day. But sadly, this was one of those times when GH did air in some time zones while being preempted in others.
So this means that fans who want to stay up-to-date on the latest goings-on in Port Charles will have to seek out this episode before tuning in to Friday’s show. Some channels may have aired Thursday’s GH in the overnight hours, and you might even find the episode in the ABC on-demand section of your cable channels. Or, you can stream it online.
Every weekday evening, Hulu adds that day’s episode of GH to their lineup, so Thursday’s episode is available for streaming there. However, if you don’t subscribe to that particular streaming service, you can always find recent episodes on ABC.com. And while you normally need to log in to the website with your cable television provider to stream GH on ABC.com, because of the preemptions, they have made Thursday’s episode available with no login required. And as always, if GH was preempted in your area on Thursday, you might want to double-check your DVR recording for Friday if that’s how you normally watch the soap. Because preemptions often play havoc with scheduled recordings and viewers suddenly find that the next show didn’t record. And we don’t want that!
