How Wiley’s GENERAL HOSPITAL Scenes Were Filmed at Home!

Tags:

Wiley was back on GENERAL HOSPITAL in the Aug. 19 episode but Theo and Erik Olson weren’t back at the studio — the baby’s scenes were filmed at home in their very own crib! “Babies are, of course, not allowed on set for safety reasons,” explained the twins’ parents on Instagram. “But we gladly accepted the challenge to film this little clip from home with the direction of [GH executive producer] Frank Valentini!”

In the video clip, Mrs. Olson marvels, “It’s amazing what an iPhone can do.” She then pans up to the wall to show that they even had to do a little set decorating in the twins’ bedroom to match the studio set. She then plays with the toddler as he counts his hands and feet. (Swipe through the Instagram post below to see the video.)

With the current safety protocols in place during the COVID-19 pandemic, children aren’t allowed on sets, but GH found a clever way of letting the Olson twins continue to play Wiley from home. And they also got a special bonus! “It was super sweet of him because he made sure both Theo and Erik got a stuffed kangaroo to keep!” Mrs. Olson said of Valentini. “They love their gifts! Thank you!” (Naturally, these won’t have GPS tracking devices in them like the one Nelle gave Wiley!)

Stay tuned to see what happens to Wiley next and whether or not Theo and Erik make more shot-at-home appearances on the soap!
