Hudson West Is Still Playing Jake on GENERAL HOSPITAL

It’s been so long since they’ve seen the character on screen, some fans found themselves wondering if there was a new Jake on GENERAL HOSPITAL! But no, that is still Hudson West playing Liz and Jason’s son on the soap — he just grew up some (and let his hair grow out)! “Yes, that was me,” the young actor tweeted after he made his return in the March 17 episode for Franco’s memorial. And when some couldn’t believe it, he added, “I had a huge growth spurt the last year and a half!”

The last time West was on GH was way back in December 2019. After the soaps shut down production temporarily due to the coronavirus pandemic, they soon returned to work, but due to the COVID-19 safety protocols, it was still a while longer before child actors were included in the tapings. But when it came time for Franco’s memorial service, Liz needed to have all her kids around her, so West was called back to work. “It was great to be back!” he enthused.

When Jake appeared again in the April 1 episode unable to accept the fact that his father could have killed Franco and visiting Jason in jail, there were still plenty of GH fans wondering if there had been a recast, but we’re happy to inform you it’s still the same talented young actor! And hopefully, he’ll be back even more often as this storyline continues to play out and Franco’s real killer is finally revealed. When a fan expressed how happy they were to see him back on the soap again and declaring they needed Jake to stay, West replied: “Thank you! I want to stay, too!”
