Hudson West Opens up About His New GH Storyline

Tags:

Fans were happy to see Hudson West back as Jake on GENERAL HOSPITAL in the fall of 2023, though the actor admitted that after so long off the canvas, reprising the role again was a little stressful.

“Honestly, I was pretty nervous,” he confessed to Star-Kidz. “I hadn’t had a storyline on the show in years, and I felt a new sense of pressure that I never felt back in the day.”

With an actual storyline this time around that involves a budding romance with Charlotte Cassadine and Jake’s reaction to her shooting, West has had much meatier material to sink his teeth into. And he was thrilled to see Scarlett Fernandez back as Charlotte.

“It was exciting and crazy to see her after so many years,” West said. “I had naturally assumed I would never see her again, and then all of a sudden I’m spending a whole week with her every day. It was all around a very positive experience.”

The talented young actor also got the opportunity to share scenes with veteran actors like Finola Hughes (Anna) and James Patrick Stuart (Valentin). “Finola was incredible to work with mostly because I could learn a lot from her,” West explained. “She is also just a cool person all around. James is an amazing presence on set. He is really funny and good with kids. James brought some light to set even when it got intense filming the shooting.”

Of course, there are still plenty of other GH cast members with whom he would love to share scenes. “There are a lot of people,” West confided, “but Maurice Benard (Sonny) comes to mind. It’s been years since we’ve worked together.”

Well, who knows what the future might hold for Jake? In soaps, anything is possible!
