Ingo Rademacher Dishes His Side Gig as a Lifeguard (EXCLUSIVE)

In addition to playing GENERAL HOSPITAL’s Jax, Ingo Rademacher has a second job with the Los Angeles County Fire Department as a recurrent lifeguard. “I became a lifeguard last summer because I want to be available for those days when there aren’t a lot of lifeguards in town,” the ocean lover revealed to Soaps In Depth. “I started volunteer-lifeguarding when I was about 16 and living in Queensland, [Australia]. And when I came out to Los Angeles in ’94, I used to work out with the L.A. County lifeguards and compete in their Southern California competitions.”

Now that Rademacher is picking up the occasional shift, no one seems to realize who’s keeping an eye on them. “During the academy [training], there were some people who recognized me — which was weird with 50-60 other people all running on the beach,” he chuckled. “But now, even if they say, ‘He looks like the guy from TV,’ they don’t actually think it’s me — unless they follow me on Instagram and know!”
