Bobbie & Scotty on GH — Jacklyn Zeman Asks: “Can It Work?” (EXCLUSIVE)

Tags:

It’s been a tumultuous time for both Scotty and Bobbie’s families on GENERAL HOSPITAL… but as they’ve supported their loved ones, how has their rekindled romance fared? “In my mind, it’s going really well… but that’s mostly off-camera,” chuckles the beloved nurse’s portrayer, Jacklyn Zeman. “I hope it has legs. Bobbie turned down his proposal, but they’re best friends and have known each other so long and so well. The spark has always been there. But it’s never been, ‘Oh, the love of my life! I can’t live without you!’ for either one of them. So I always wonder — particularly when you’re a mature couple later in life — can it work?”

Over the decades, Bobbie and Scotty have tried time and time again to get it together, and so far, their relationship hasn’t stuck long-term. But “you reach a certain age, and you’re obviously not going to have any more babies,” Zeman noted. “So could they have some fun together? In real life, I would question that. If I knew someone that I felt about the way I do Kin Shriner, and we had Scotty and Bobbie’s history, that would be a nice relationship. There’s so many things that could be explored when you have a friendship that has such incredible intimacy and trust.”

For all her talk of exploring a “mature” relationship, Zeman isn’t beyond having some more old-school, juvenile fun, either — especially not with longtime rival Lucy on the scene relaunching Deception. “When Scotty had to choose between Bobbie and Lucy a couple of years ago,” she reminds, “we had the big catfight in our evening gowns where we were pulling at each other’s extensions. It was so much fun still!”

And where there’s that much passion, there’s a whole lot of potential! Stay tuned to see what the future holds, and for more from your favorite GH stars, keep reading the ABC edition of Soaps In Depth magazine.
