James Patrick Stuart Wraps Filming of His New Series

Tags:

All good things must come to an end! GENERAL HOSPITAL star James Patrick Stuart has just finished filming the first season of his Disney sitcom. “That’s a wrap on season one of THE VILLAINS OF VALLEY VIEW,” he shared on Instagram. “20 episodes with the amazing Malachi Barton and Isabella Papas. So proud of each and every one of them.”

In response, Pappas — who stars in the series as Amy — commented: “Love you, TV Dad! Thanks for everything!”

During development, the show was called AMY FROM AMARILLO and MEET THE MAYHEMS before settling on THE VILLAINS OF VALLEY VIEW. It revolves around a family of super-powered villains who are hiding out in a small Texas town. Stuart plays Vic Madden, also known as the supervillain Kraniac, the head of the family. It premiered on June 3 on the Disney Channel.

Stuart was immediately impressed with his talented young co-stars. During a cast trip to Disneyland, he remarked: “It is the last time we will be able to do this together before these young actors become wildly famous. The show is an undeniable comedic force and each one of them is amazing.”

Back in May 2021 when he first landed the pilot, Stuart assured his GH fans that he was not going to be leaving the soap. As they film just “15 minutes from the GH stage,” he promised he would manage the schedules of both gigs to make it work. But while the actor was off filming his new Disney series, Valentin naturally took a rest on the back burner, recovering from his kidnapping.

In March 2022, Stuart announced that he was back on set at GH taping more episodes, though Valentin’s appearances have remained relatively sparse throughout the spring. Hopefully, now that he’s finished up over in Valley View, Stuart can spend a lot more time in Port Charles and fans can look forward to seeing what Valentin does next!

At this time, there has been no announcement from Disney as to whether or not THE VILLAINS OF VALLEY VIEW will be renewed for a second season, so keep checking back here at SoapsInDepth.com for updates to find out if Stuart is going to have to juggle two jobs again!
