Fans assumed when Tracy announced she was going to Amsterdam to meet with Bobbie to settle Luke’s affairs, that meant the end of Jane Elliot’s latest run on GENERAL HOSPITAL. However, it turns out that’s not actually the case!
While Elliot will, in fact, be off-screen for a little bit while Tracy visits Amsterdam and settles some business, Soap Opera Digest is reporting that sources tell them she will be back in Port Charles very soon!
Elliot originated the fan-favorite character when she joined the cast of GH back in 1978 and played the role on and off over the years, even bringing Tracy over to sister soap THE CITY for a year! During her time in Port Charles, the gifted actress has earned three Daytime Emmy Award nominations for playing Tracy, taking home the Outstanding Supporting Actress trophy in 1981.
Although Elliot announced her retirement in 2017 and Tracy was written off to enjoy living happily ever after with Luke, the actress has reprised the role multiple times since then, and although her most recent visits have been relatively brief, her latest one that began back in April of this year was meant to be much more substantial.
So it’s great to know that Tracy will be back in Port Charles again soon because she still hasn’t settled things with Brook Lynn and Deception. Plus, she’s got to make sure that Ned is okay and doesn’t still think he’s Eddie Maine anymore. And who would want to miss the traditional Quartermaine Thanksgiving festivities?
