Looks like Tracy is returning to GENERAL HOSPITAL for another holiday visit! According to the cover of the new issue of Soap Opera Digest, Jane Elliot is coming back to the soap! Unfortunately, at this point, there are no details as to exactly when she’ll be showing up or how long she’ll stick around, but we’ll be sure to update this story as soon as more information is available so keep checking back!
Elliot joined the cast of GH back in 1978, originating the role of the feisty Tracy Quartermaine. She played the role off and on over the years — earning four Daytime Emmy Award nominations for Outstanding Supporting Actress and taking home the trophy in 1981 — until her retirement in 2017. Heck, in 1996, Elliot even took the popular character over to ABC sister soap THE CITY for a year!
The last time that fans saw Tracy was when Elliot reprised her role in December 2019 when Tracy returned to Port Charles to check in on the family and make sure son Ned wasn’t running the family business into the ground. The actress also participated in the special 2019 holiday episode where the cast of GH performed Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol. This year, there’s plenty of new family drama for Tracy to catch up on and she’ll certainly have a few things to say to everyone about the trouble in which they’ve found themselves!
Whether Elliot is back for the traditional Quartermaine Thanksgiving pizza feast or if she’ll be coming home for Christmas isn’t yet known, so stay tuned. And since it’s unlikely the actress would want to return to GH full-time, perhaps these annual holiday visits will become a regular thing!
