John and Anna on GENERAL HOSPITAL? – Finola Hughes Speaks Out!
Anna is kind of flying solo at the moment on GENERAL HOSPITAL. So when she’s worried about Dante’s condition, she can’t talk to him or Sonny about the situation, and with her relationship with Valentin kaput, he’s also off the table. Which is why Anna winds up turning to John “Jagger” Cates to unload!
Although she was initially cold towards John when he and the FBI came charging into Port Charles and hijacked her investigation into the stolen WSB weapons, drinking together helps melt some of that ice. “They go drink for drink,” Finola Hughes (Anna) confided to Soap Opera Digest. “It’s actually quite funny.”
Of course, the conversation is definitely no laughing matter, with Dante in the hospital fighting for his life, Jason back from the dead and hiding out in Port Charles, the possible suspect in his shooting. Torn between her desire to uphold justice and her feelings for Sonny, Jason, and Dante, Anna needs to get some things off her chest to help her process her thoughts, and John is there to listen.
“I think Anna is comfortable talking to men about her problems and about things that concern her,” Hughes mused. “And I think she is especially comfortable talking to people in law enforcement about that kind of stuff because really, if you look back on the ‘80s, she grew up doing that if she wasn’t confiding in Felicia. So if you think about it, there really isn’t anybody else that she could talk to about what she goes to him to talk to about.”
Fans have already noticed the chemistry that Adam Harrington’s John has shared with some of the ladies in Port Charles, namely Laura Wright’s Carly and Hughes’ Anna. And now Anna and John are starting to see each other a little differently. “The greater understanding that she comes to is that he isn’t the [jerk] she thought he was!” Hughes declared with a laugh.
