John J. York Returns to GENERAL HOSPITAL!

Get ready for more Mac because John J. York is back at the GENERAL HOSPITAL studio taping more scenes! “Detective Scorpio… reporting for duty, he tweeted, finishing up with cop and smiling face emojis. With his mask pulled down slightly below his nose, the actor snapped a quick selfie in the studio parking lot with the show’s name on the outside of the building behind him.

York joined the cast of GH as Mac Scorpio back in February 1991 and proved so popular over the years that not only did he appear on the soap’s spinoffs PORT CHARLES and NIGHT SHIFT, but he also brought Mac over to Pine Valley for an episode of ALL MY CHILDREN!

The last time viewers actually saw York on screen was back in June when Mac showed up at the hospital to check on Maxie and promise they would do whatever it takes to get her baby back from Peter. Of course, he has no idea that she actually gave Baby Louise to Brook Lynn to raise in the hopes of protecting her daughter from the villainous Peter August!

Given GH’s shooting schedule, fans can expect to see York back on screen as Mac sometime in late November. Will he be part of a family Thanksgiving celebration? Or perhaps he’ll be called upon to do some police work in the crime-ridden Port Charles? Maybe November Sweeps is when the baby swap will be exposed and Maxie might need her stepfather’s support?

You’ll just have to tune in and find out!
