GH’s Johnny Wactor Reveals What It’s Really Like to Be an Actor

Soap fans often wonder about what the actors on their favorite show are really like. And sometimes, they might even find themselves wondering what it’s like to actually be an actor. GENERAL HOSPITAL newcomer Johnny Wactor (Brando) shared his own experiences to try and answer some of those questions. “I often get asked what it’s like acting for a living,” he wrote on Instagram. “And the truth is, it’s often lonely. Especially in preparation.”

Wactor admitted that his chosen profession can also be incredibly stressful. “And it mostly feels like I’m about to get into a fight,” he explained. “I’m nervous, I’m afraid, I get in my head. I wonder if I’m going to get fired. I wonder if I’m going to remember all of my lines. I wonder if I’m going to show up to the best of my abilities for my co-workers. This fear could be a burden, and in reality, it is a lot of the times. The fear is many times inextinguishable.

“When the fear does not subside, I use it as fuel in preparation,” Wactor continued. “Don’t let the fear rule you. Instead, use it as tinder to work hard and make sure that all of the anxieties and fearful outcomes cease to come into fruition. And remember that the people you work with are there to help you as much as you’re there to help them. We’re not alone in this fight. In fact, it’s not a fight at all.”

Wise words from a talented performer who has already made his mark at GH. Stay tuned to the soap to watch him continue to ply his trade and improve his skills even more!
