Jon Lindstrom Celebrates His Anniversary at GENERAL HOSPITAL

Tags:

Technically, Jon Lindstrom made his daytime debt back in 1985 with a role on SANTA BARBARA and also appeared on GENERATIONS in 1989. But he found fame when he began playing Ryan Chamberlin and Kevin Collins on GENERAL HOSPITAL. Although Ryan came first, in 1992, identical twin Kevin arrived shortly thereafter, and is the role that the actor continues to play to this day.

“I woke up this morning to see that today, Dec. 3, marks… oh wow… 30 years since I debuted as Dr. Kevin Collins on GH,” Lindstrom marveled in an Instagram video to fans. “I had no idea. I knew that it had been a long time but 30 years since the doppelganger to Dr. Ryan Chamberlin was introduced. It really is remarkable. It’s been a great ride. A great run. It’s like an entire career right there. And I’ve enjoyed every minute of it. It’s just been great.

Lindstrom returned to GH in 2013 after a two-year run as Craig Montgomery on CBS sudser AS THE WORLD TURNS, and also reprised the role of Ryan on occasion up until the psycho serial killer met his death in February 2023. He has earned three Daytime Emmy Award nominations for his work on GH and is currently up for Outstanding Supporting Actor at the 2023 ceremony.

“A lot of people to thank about that,” the actor admitted. “People like [former GH executive producer] Wendy Riche and the brass at ABC at the time. Claire Labine, who was writing the show back then. But Michelle Val Jean, really, was the one who I had the pleasure of working with to develop and bring to life Kevin Collins. And she’s still a great friend today.

“There’s been a lot of blessings around this for me,” Lindstrom concluded. “Don’t think I don’t know it. I pretty much drop to my knees every day in gratitude. So thank you, world, for supporting Dr. Kevin Collins — and Ryan Chamberlin, for that matter — and I’ll do it as long as they’ll have me, really.”

Well, then, here’s to another 30 years!
