Jophielle Love’s Scary New Movie!

Tags:

When we think about GENERAL HOSPITAL’s sweet young Violet and her golden-haired portrayer, Jophielle Love, the last thing that comes to mind is a creepy ghost kid who possesses a giant animatronic animal. But that is exactly the role Love is playing in the new horror flick Five Nights At Freddy’s! Based on the popular horror video game of the same name, the long-awaited film adaptation opens in theaters and streams on Peacock starting Friday, Oct. 27, just in time for Halloween!

“So exciting!” the pint-sized GH star gushed on Instagram, sharing the trailer for the survival thriller. “Actually, my whole family participated in some way, so it will be an exciting one for us!”

The plot of the film follows Mike, a troubled security guard who accepts a nighttime security job at Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza, an abandoned family entertainment center. While at work for his first shift — with his little sister, Abby, in tow — Mike discovers that the four animatronic mascots who make up the Freddy Fazbear Band move around the eatery and arcade and will kill anyone still there after midnight! According to local lore, five children went missing back in the 1980s and while police searched the restaurant, the kids were never found. But, apparently, the spirits of the missing kids stuck around Freddy’s! As Mike deduces in the trailer, “There are ghost children possessing giant robots?”

Love plays Ghost Kid #5 in Five Nights At Freddy’s, and her dad, highwire walker and circus performer Jade Kindar-Martin, voices Bonnie, the murderous blue rabbit. In addition to dad and daughter’s roles in the central storyline, Love’s brothers make cameos in the film, and her mom, stuntwoman Karine Mauffrey, worked behind the scenes!

In a joint Instagram post between Love and Kindar-Martin, it was explained that brothers Gabriel and Raphael are such fans of the videogame franchise “that they made a cameo just so they could be in it!” Plus, “Karine (Mom) helped out with a couple stunts in it, and she also reps most of the cast for their public appearances at comic cons and fan conventions.”
