Kate Mansi Previews Kristina and Blaze’s Future on GENERAL HOSPITAL

The road to true love is never smooth, especially on a soap. But for GENERAL HOSPITAL’s Kristina, her new romance with Blaze has already gotten off to a rocky start. First, the singer isn’t completely out of the closet, and second, Kristina is now pregnant with her sister’s baby!

“I think she, of course, has a lot of nerves about the timing of everything,” Kate Mansi (Kristina) told Soap Opera Digest of her character’s feelings. “And then on top of that, the fact that Blaze isn’t out yet is like an added layer of complication.”

Kristina suggested that they take a break while she acted as Molly and TJ’s surrogate, but Blaze being so accepting of the situation gave her new hope that this relationship could actually work out. Of course, reality could come crashing down at any moment, especially if Kristina continues to have a problem with Blaze hiding their romance.

“Yeah, I don’t think she’s thinking about that,” the actress admitted. “Kristina is very much someone that thinks about what’s right in front of her. When she puts her mind to something, she just does it. She’s sort of an action-based person in that way, which strangely gives her the ability to be more present. But she doesn’t really think too far down the road, you know?”

Still, it’s clear that Kristina is smitten with the musician and willing to take another chance on love. “I think that there’s definitely a charm to Blaze and a mystique, certainly, with what she does [professionally],” Mansi mused. “But also, I think the thing that intrigues her the most is that there’s something underneath the person that everyone knows her as — and that’s actually who she shows more than anything to Kristina.”
