Katelyn MacMullen Opens up About Willow’s Leukemia Diagnosis on GH

Tags:

Learning she and Michael are going to have a baby should have been the happiest time of Willow’s life on GENERAL HOSPITAL But the situation became complicated when her fainting spells landed her in the hospital where TJ ran some tests and began to suspect she may have leukemia.

“Hearing that is shocking and heartbreaking and terrifying,” Katelyn MacMullen (Willow) admitted in a recent issue of Soap Opera Digest. “For her, finding out that it could be leukemia is like, ‘Okay, now I’m in a race of needing to figure out if I have it or not.’ And being pregnant adds a whole other factor to it, because now it’s not just her life she’s worried about, it’s her baby’s.”

After speaking with Terry and Britt, Willow underwent a bone marrow biopsy to confirm the diagnosis, but she continues to keep Michael in the dark. At this point, he’s just a little concerned that his pregnant partner is having to get so many tests done. But Willow is determined to keep this from him for as long as she possibly can.

“She feels like it’s not a one hundred percent diagnosis yet,” MacMullen explained. “And so she’s not going to say anything until she knows for sure what this is. She keeps saying things like, ‘Michael is going through so much right now and I don’t want to ruin the happiness that we have over something that might not even be the case.’ She’s thinking, ‘Once I have answers about what I’m dealing with, then I’ll tell Michael.’”

So keep watching GH to see if Willow really does have leukemia, and how it impacts both her relationship with Michael but also their unborn child!
