Kin Shriner Announces Scott Has Been Written Out of GENERAL HOSPITAL

Tags:

The soap world was thrown into a bit of a tizzy the evening of May 16 when GENERAL HOSPITAL star Kin Shriner (Scott) posted a tweet that seemed to indicate he was leaving the soap!

“I just found out Scotty was written out,” he wrote. “I thank you GH fans for decades of supporting me!”

While some fans wondered if the actor’s Twitter account had been hacked, others noted that he has made these kinds of statements before. In fact, back in December 2021, Shriner tweeted that “Scotty’s run is done, so heading to Florida to ride Vespa around the tropics!” And as we all know, Scott eventually returned to our screens.

The character of Scotty Baldwin first appeared back in the mid-‘60s played by child actor Johnny Whitaker and after a series of young actors was aged to an adult in 1977 when Shriner took over the role. He has come and gone numerous times from GH over the decades, so this could just be another visit to the backburner until Scott’s story heats back up again.

Recently, Scott found himself in a relationship with Liesl Obrecht that has become a fan favorite. Unfortunately, his defending Liz in court upset Obrecht and she has thus far found it difficult to forgive him. While it would seem more in character for Scott to continue trying to win Obrecht back, perhaps he’s going to go lick his wounds and wait for her to come around on her own.
