Kristen Alderson Opens Up About Her New Baby Girl
It’s been a week since soap favorite Kristen Alderson (ex-Kiki, GENERAL HOSPITAL; Starr, ONE LIFE TO LIVE) became a parent, having welcomed her daughter Kiera Sky on Jan. 29. And in a sweet Instagram post, the actress has opened up about her first few days as a first-time mom (complete with a carousel of photos of the birth and Kiera’s first week on Earth)!
“Last night at 11:17 p.m. marked one week of Kiera!” shared Alderson, who shares the adorable little girl with her fiancé, Taylor Crousore. “It’s true what they all say, it’s a love like you’ve never felt before.”
Simply looking at her beautiful daughter makes her emotional, Alderson confessed. “I keep breaking down in tears when I look at her, sing to her, talk to her,” she admitted. “She’s everything I’ve ever wanted. What an insane week it was.”
The actress — who documented her pregnancy for her followers on social media and in her and Crousore’s podcast, Expecting You — revealed there were some hiccups at the end. “I couldn’t wait to find out/live through what her birth story would be, definitely not thinking it would be nearly 48 hours of contractions only to end in a C-section,” she wrote. “Moms are truly incredible. I feel honored to be a part of the club.” Not forgetting her other half, Alderson noted that Crousore is “already the best daddy ever and the most supportive partner. We made her!?”
As Alderson’s Instagram followers know, during the final weeks of her pregnancy, the couple left their New York City apartment and moved to her parents’ home in the suburbs of Philadelphia, PA. “Beyond blessed for the love/support of my family, especially my parents for taking us in and being the best help in the world.”
The GH alum also thanked the staff at Abington Hospital, where she delivered Kiera, for taking such great care of her and promised that an upcoming podcast would have more details about her birth story. “That episode won’t come out for a few weeks,” she teased before signing off to get in more cuddles with her daughter. “Time to go back to crying to Kiera that I can’t believe she’s a week old already.”
