Laura Wright Shares Her Daughter Lauren’s First Published News Story
Like any mom, GENERAL HOSPITAL star Laura Wright (Carly) is proud of her children’s achievements. So when her daughter, Lauren Wright, had her first story published at Mustang News, she simply had to share the accomplishment on social media! “My daughter’s first news story published!” the actress tweeted. “Super proud mom!”
Mustang News is the official student-run news source for California Polytechnic students and the greater San Luis Obispo community. With co-writer Jazmyn Gray, 22-year-old Lauren penned a story revealing how a new course registration system at the school caused numerous scheduling issues as class schedules were changed unexpectedly and courses were canceled, leaving Cal Poly students in the lurch.
Characters on soaps change careers sometimes as often as they change their outfits, but in her roles as Ally on THE CITY, Cassie on GUIDING LIGHT, and Carly on GH, Wright never played a journalist, which is what her daughter wants to be. “Yes,” she confirmed. “Graduating in June with a journalism degree and a minor in ethnic studies.”
