Laura Wright Thanks Her Fans

Tags:

After celebrating another year around the sun, GENERAL HOSPITAL star Laura Wright (Carly) was full of love and gratitude for all of the fans and friends who wished her a Happy Birthday on Sept. 11. So she made a point of expressing her feelings in a heartfelt Instagram post.

“Thank you all so, so much for the kind, beautiful, and funny birthday wishes I received,” she said. “So many with stories and memories that brought tears to my eyes. Life is so short — truly we are here for a minute. I am so grateful for my life and every experience I’ve been given.”

The veteran actress is also ready to take on another year. “So let’s go, 53!” Wright cheered. “Let’s see what you have to offer.” She also finished her post with the hashtags: “#LiveBig, #LoveMore, and dear God, #DontSweatTheSmallStuff.”

Wright has been amassing legions of loyal fans since her daytime debut back in 1991 when she joined the cast of LOVING as Ally Rescott. She brought that character over to the spinoff THE CITY in 1995, then joined CBS sudser GUIDING LIGHT as Cassie Layne in 1997, and finally found her way to Port Charles in 2005 when she became the new Carly Corinthos on GH. That role has earned her seven Daytime Emmy Award nominations for Outstanding Lead Actress, and she took home the trophy in 2011.

Naturally, the comments on Wright’s Instagram post began filling up with even more birthday wishes from fans and even former castmates like Briana Nicole Henry (ex-Jordan, GH) and Wendy Moniz (Dinah, GL), who declared: “Happy Birthday, Laura… hope it was a great one! Wow… this picture. Such a beauty!” (Yes, she does look stunning in that Instagram pic above!)

So please join us in wishing Wright a very happy birthday and best wishes for whatever the next year holds!
