Lexi Ainsworth Reveals She’s Back on GENERAL HOSPITAL “For a While”

It’s been a while since Kristina has been on screen for any length of time, but Lexi Ainsworth promises her fans that she’s going to be back on GENERAL HOSPITAL again soon and making more than the occasional one-episode appearances!

“I’m really happy about it,” she told Soap Opera Digest in their new issue. “And I’m very excited that it seems like I’m sticking around for a while. I feel like I’m such a tease; I come on for a few days, a few episodes, and then I disappear for a few months! But I never know when they’re going to call me.”

Ainsworth took over the role of Sonny and Alexis’ daughter in 2009 after Kristina was played by a series of child actresses. After her exit in 2011, the role was recast with Lindsey Morgan, who lasted about a year. Ainsworth returned in 2015 but left again in 2017. However, in the years that followed, the actress has popped back into Port Charles periodically now and then, but never for any substantial storylines.

Kristina was last seen in the middle of August when Sonny congratulated his daughter on her promotion to manager of Charlie’s Pub and she later joined Molly, Sam, and Alexis for a Davis Girls lunch so they could all catch up.

Despite not being on GH as often as she has been in the past, Ainsworth still has a ton of loyal fans, and she remains eternally grateful to them. “I love my fans,” she enthused. “I just really want to thank them for being patient and persistent! I feel all of the support.”

There are no details yet as to when, exactly, Ainsworth’s new episodes will begin airing, so keep watching GH to see what kind of drama Kristina finds herself mixed up in when she returns to the screen again!
