Lisa LoCicero Shares an Update on Her Daughter’s Accident

Tags:

When GENERAL HOSPITAL star Lisa LoCicero (Olivia) took her almost-seven-year-old daughter Verity to the doctor on May 25, she was pleasantly surprised by the kid’s reaction. “‘I didn’t know men were doctors!’ What my daughter said to this lovely new pediatrician who was making sure she didn’t have a concussion,” she related. “Best thing I’ve heard all year. Like the Archie Bunker Riddle, only different.”

The riddle LoCicero is referencing is from the season three episode of the classic TV sitcom ALL IN THE FAMILY titled “Gloria and the Riddle.” In it, a friend of Gloria’s stumps Archie and the rest of the family with a riddle where the setup has a father and son in a car accident. The father dies immediately but the son is rushed into surgery. In the operating room, the surgeon takes one look at the boy and says: “I can’t operate on him. He’s my son.” The riddle is, who is the surgeon?

And while the answer — the surgeon is his mother — may seem obvious, back in the 70s, Archie and the rest couldn’t even conceive of a female surgeon. So LoCicero found herself tickled by the idea that her daughter was surprised to see a doctor who is a man!

Of course, the GH actress’ post also had the side effect of causing friends and fans to worry about why Verity was at the doctor’s in the first place and if she was okay. So an hour after her post from the doctor’s office, LoCicero shared an update with another picture of Verity to reassure everyone that she was fine. “No concussion!” she reported. “Sorry, getting worried texts. She slipped at school and I was just being extra-cautious before letting her sleep.”

Mom then threw in a little dig at her daughter, joking: “Her only issue now is that mullet…”

We’re glad to hear that Verity got a clean bill of health. Can’t ever be too careful!
