Nancy Lee Grahn Celebrates 25 Years on GENERAL HOSPITAL

Please join us in congratulating Nancy Lee Grahn on her 25th anniversary on GENERAL HOSPITAL! That’s right, Grahn made her debut on Sept. 26, 1996, as attorney Alexis Davis, and the following year was bumped from recurring to contract status. “I’m feeling very loved today and appreciating all of it,” the actress tweeted as the congratulations started rolling in. “Sending it back double fold.”

Also congratulating Grahn on this achievement was her daughter, Kate Grahn, who taped a video message her mother shared on social media. “Hi everyone, it’s me, Kate,” she said. “25 years ago today was my mom’s first day of work on GH. That is so nuts! My mom wanted to work on GH because, first of all, she was a fan. And second of all, she was a single mom and wanted a steady acting job to have me.

“It’s because GH hired her and the fans stood by her side for so many years that she was able to provide me with such an exceptional and truly fortunate life that I am so grateful for,” Kate continued. “So I just wanted to say thank you so much to everyone at Disney, ABC, and GH for raising me. And I am not done growing yet, and neither is my mom, so I hope you guys are good for another 25 years. Congrats, Mom. I love you. Great job.”

Grahn made her daytime debut back on ONE LIFE TO LIVE in 1978, playing Marco Dane’s secretary, Beverly Wilkes, until 1982. In 1985, she was cast as Julia Wainwright on the NBC soap SANTA BARBARA and earned the Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in 1989. GH snatched Grahn up in 1996, and has garnered nine more Emmy nods over the years, taking home the trophy for Supporting Actress again in 2012.

So congratulations to Grahn on 25 years in Port Charles, and we look forward to 25 more years of incredible Emmy-worthy performances!
