On Sept. 27, Nancy Lee Grahn celebrated her 25th anniversary playing Alexis on GENERAL HOSPITAL by expressing gratitude to her fans along with a collage of photos of her on the soap. “Today I begin my 25th year on GH so this is all going to be about you,” the actress declared. “It is because of you that I have this anniversary. It is because of you that I have gotten to do what I love to do.
“It is because of you that I’ve stayed motivated to portray Alexis as truthfully as I can, which means occasionally having to defend her honor, which is not always easy,” Grahn continued. “It is because of you that I’ve been able to raise [my daughter] Kate in the way I’ve always dreamed about. It is because of your kindness, love, and loyalty that I still want to act for you. It is all because of you. Love, me.”
Grahn made her daytime debut as Beverly Wilkes, Marco Dane’s secretary on ONE LIFE TO LIVE in 1978. In 1985, she was cast as attorney Julia Wainwright Capwell on NBC sudser SANTA BARBARA and earned a Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in 1989. She remained with the soap until its cancelation in 1993 and in 1996 began playing another headstrong attorney, Alexis Davis, on GH. During her years in Port Charles, Grahn has received eight more Daytime Emmy Award nominations, taking home the trophy for Supporting Actress again in 2012.
Please join us in congratulating Grahn on her 25 years on GH as we look forward to 25 more!
