Nancy Lee Grahn Looks at the Lighter Side of Alexis’ Dark Turn on GH
Alexis’ fall off the wagon and the subsequent actions her drinking has caused on GENERAL HOSPITAL have been no laughing matter. But even as the soap tackles such a serious subject as alcoholism and its far-reaching effects, Alexis’ portrayer, Nancy Lee Grahn, has been trying to lighten the mood on Twitter! “Dear Olivia,” she wrote in character. “Sorry about sleeping with your husband and stabbing your son with a syringe. You’re very pretty and you make excellent lasagna. I hope we can still be friends. Love, Alexis — Voted Hottest Mess of 2020 and a frontrunner for 2021!”
Alexis got drunk with Ned and the exes had an alcohol-fueled one-night stand when he believed his wife was cheating on him with Robert. Of course, Olivia was never unfaithful, and the truth eventually came out, sending Alexis on a further spiral that led her to try and protect her daughter from Franco by grabbing a syringe off of a nearby hospital tray and stabbing him with it! Unfortunately, Dante stepped into the fray and got stabbed instead, putting his life in jeopardy!
Grahn also composed a letter of apology to her unintended victim. “Dear Dante,” she tweeted. “I was honestly trying to vaccinate you but picked up the Lidocaine syringe instead. Easy mistake. You’re very handsome and I love the beard. Love, Alexis. PS: I hope you don’t die, but if you do, chances are you’ll come back from it.”
A Twitter user helpfully put together an animated GIF linking this 2021 scene with one from 2003 where Alexis attempted to brain Scott in court but was also intercepted! Another fan noted that “Alexis missed her targets twice,” to which the actress just laughed.
We’re pretty sure Dante will be fine, but Alexis certainly has a long road ahead of her if she wants to get her life together. Hopefully, this will be the wake-up call that she needed and can finally start the process of recovery. And of course, we’ll continue looking forward to Grahn’s witty takes on her character’s storylines as they unfold on GH!
